Stewardship of Generosity

Daniel Tai, November 12, 2017

Discussion questions:

1. What is the most generous act you’ve personally experienced?

2. According to the Old Testament, how much is a tithe? When all the tithe’s were added up, how much was it?

A tithe is returning back to God what he has given us. Under the New Covenant in Christ, we are no longer under the Old Testament obligations of their tithes. We are still commanded to return back to God what he has blessed us with.

Read 2 Corinthians 9:6-7
[6] The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. [7] Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

3. What impact have you experienced as a result of your generosity? Personally? In the church?

4. What are different ways God has blessed your generosity before? How do you know it was a result of God or was it just a coincidence?

Remember, God loves a cheerful giver. The joy comes after the act of giving, never before. Giving to God is not done reluctantly or under compulsion.
